Booster Compressors
Booster compressors are a type of equipment used to increase or amplify the pressure of compressed air or nitrogen coming from the existing air compressor or nitrogen generator. The booster compressor can raise the existing air or nitrogen pressures of 80-150 psig to as much as 3000 psig.
Similar to our rotary screw air compressor offering, Liberty Systems offers three manufacturers of booster compressors with our medium pressure (400-500 psig) packages. We will typically couple the same booster compressor manufacturer with the same rotary screw air compressor manufacturer. This is done so you and Liberty have a one stop shop for support and service.
We also offer a high-pressure booster compressor (3000 psig). The high-pressure booster compressors are generally used with what will call storage systems. We can build up a significant amount of air or nitrogen and “store” it for later use.
There are pros and cons of each of the offerings. We want you to have choices, we want to give you as much information as possible for you to make an informed decision.
If you are interested in a variable speed drive booster compressor, both Kaeser and Ozen have that option.
The booster compressor is one of the more important pieces of a medium or high-pressure system.
